Society for Asian Music
Dear Colleagues,
The Society for Asian Music is pleased to announce this year’s small grant program to support research in Asian music. To ensure applicants have sufficient time to prepare, we have extended the deadline to March 15, 2025.
Grants between $2,000 and $4,000 are available for the period from May 2025 through May 2026.
This year, we will award up to four small grants. At least two grants will be dedicated to full-time graduate students and one to independent scholars and/or contingent faculty who are otherwise ineligible for institutional research funding.
Applicants must apply for the appropriate grant (full-time graduate student OR independent scholar/contingent faculty) and should submit a proposal of no more than 500 words to Sarah Morelli by 15 March 2025. Applicants must be members of the Society for Asian Music at the time of application. SAM memberships are based on the calendar year (January-December) and can be renewed or managed at the UT Press website: https://utpress.utexas.edu/journals/asian-music/
